Aventador Cruiser by EVOV1 Aventador Cruiser by EVOV1
A newly commissioned Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 cruiser lies in wait under a stormy sky, ready to literally gore anyone that breaks the law.

*Artist comments*

In addition to drawing pretty girls, i also like to draw machinery, particularly sports cars. And i have done it before Criterion can, ahahahaha!

But i have to admit, this is probably the coolest car i have drawn to date. I am pretty smitten with it. I do hope you will enjoy it as much as i do!

The way you gave the car a luster really made it look appealing. The clever use of light to give it that warm yet fierce look. The design is very faithful to the real car. Rims look authorative yet something which would be seen on a street racer's car(which is all the better)

Now onto the police stuff about it.
The sirens could use a bit of work, but look impressive nonetheless. The way you managed to give it the cssic police paint job yet keep it sporty with well placed black and white coloration. The detailing is very impressive, with the number of the car placed very well. I like how you put little lights inside the air intakes. You even placed the small yet oh-so-importany side lights ate front and towards the back (correct me if im wrong).

The backrounds are beautiful and well detailed. You even captured the shadow of the car perfectly. Never has a police car been so well done.

The reason I gave origionality a 4 1/2 is let's face it, tuing supercars into cop crusiers isnt exactly new. We've been seeing it since the 80's.

Overall, I give 10 starss due to the well done vehicle, impressive shadows, and amazing detail.

have you tried doing the Bugatti Veyron as a police car yet?

Eh no, not really liking the Bugatti Veyron style wise, but who knows? I might be tempted to do one.

It's the most aggressive looking then the rest of the Lambos. It's as if it wants to tear something apart. Like you would do with a cop stay out its way when it come around the corner.

Thanks a lot! Lamborghinis always have that prescene thanks to their designs, which make them great police cars, in theory. No one will dare to speed if they see one of these!

I'm not sure about that, Criterion has said there will be Performance Part upgrades available but I'm not sure about certain customization options like bodykits. All I can say for now about this question is stay tuned for more information as we get closer to Most Wanted 2012's release date that is October 30th.

Yep, it's confirmed for racers but not sure for cops though. I hope I can play as the cops again like in Hot Pursuit 2010.

Well, maybe in the special challenges, but i don't think you can play as the cops in Most Wanted. Most Wanted was all about breaking traffic laws ahaha, especially speed cameras.

Ah, I never owned the original Most Wanted but I'm thinking of getting it on Games on Demand for Xbox 360 for $20.

It is based on the Lambo cop cars from that game. The idea is really cool for me, to have cop cars based on some of the most exotic machines there is.

im learning vector at the moment ,my software limits me to gradients with transparacy features. it hard to imigine this drawn using my tools, so eithr you discuised this well, or the tool you have are very significant in helping you draw, I ask this as im curious, Im also thinking of getting xara

Haha, well for me, Flash is also very very limited as compared to a vector program such as Illustrator. I use mainly gradients and colours to help me draw these out.

Since light values are light and dark, using gradients where light interacts helps to give a sense of softness and make lines less harsh. I also use a lot of layers, with many alpha (transparency, i.e. black 50% or white 20%) layers to blend the colours together.

For patterns, i use textures to achieve that effect. Another tip i can give is to add detail to the right places, to give your viewer something visually interesting to look at.

Yeah, im starting to question, if you had a lil help from a reference image, genrally drawing with vector is much easier to trace then freehand, more so I imgine you had help by looking at the way light bounces of the car, If you had to to draw a chrome grill on the front i imigine you'd be a lil clueless how it would fit the model, is this true, Im only asking this becuase latley ive had so much diffuclty with it, no harm inteneded, you pictures are better then most artists.

Haha, well i will then be proud to say, yes, i use references. I am not a god drawer like :iconartgerm: so i need references. I use it more for details and overall shapes than how light bounces. For example, if you notice, many car pictures online are of studio shots, where the car is under a extremely strong light, surrounded by white walls.

Cars out in the real world are usually under muted light sources (i.e. a cloudy sky) and reflect their surroudings. I stared at many pictures of other Lambos out in the real world, and i noticed their body doesn't reflect much light but the windows do. I would say it takes practice though. Once you look at enough references, you will naturally know where light hits and what it does to that surface.

It did take me three years to get it right (see my earliest deviation to my latest) and you can see how i have progressed in terms of shadowing. Hope that helps!

did you mention Artgerm out of being random or did you look at my favs, somehow its easy to look at these people and constantly compare, thats good because it encourages artists to think of all improvement, bad becuase it can remind us of our limits.

He doesnt use vecor art, that means he has to painfully redraw every bush tree and plant at a differnt angle. Then again somehow hes better then us, Im guessing that he is the best, and to compare ourselves to him would be non relealistic
